TV & Movie Moments: New Year's Kiss

21 November 2014

The New Year’s Eve Kiss. People say they don’t care, but the expectation hangs looming in the air. It’s there. You can’t see it. You can’t feel it. But it sure as heck doesn't mean that no one can see the neon green Hullaballoo Monster the room.
People want to ring in the new year by having a good time, so the hunt begins early, to find something “special” to do, like go to a glitzy party or take an amazing vacation. But no matter what you do, there is just something about a kiss at the end of a countdown, confetti in the air, new year with a whole lotta’ unknowns ahead, it just feels magical.
I won’t lie, it’s nice to have someone to kiss at midnight, however if you don’t have anyone to kiss, whether you’re getting a kiss or not, it is always fun to watch the movies and tv shows. You know, the ones that end with a New Year’s Kiss:

Coming in at Number 5, Every time GOSSIP GIRL’S Serena & Dan kissed and spent some kind of Christmas / New Year’s moment together: Magical

Marisa and Ryan from The O.C. Their relationship got so annoying, that eventually they killed the character Marissa Cooper off the show. Mainly because if Marissa was around, Ryan could never move on. I mean face it, Ryan and Marissa were meant to be. Why couldn't those crazy kids ever just make it work?

Oh Bridget Jones. Clumsy, self proclaimed spinster and hopeless romantic, finally got her fairy tale kiss at the end of the first movie. The closing scene, with new diary in hand and Mr. Darcy breaks away to tell her that New Year's Eve is a chance for a fresh start, everyone melted.

While You Were Sleeping: possibly one of the cutest holiday movies of all time. Sandra Bullock plays Lucy, girl that pines away for a man to find that she in fact was only in love with the idea of that man. And when true love show's it's handsome face in the form of Jack (brother of the man she thought she loved) one new year's eve, they had us screaming "JUST KISS HER ALREADY"

When Harry Met Sally makes number one on our list: Harry & Sally's New Year's kiss to seal their relationship forever was AMAZING. The sweet grand gesture of love that made the world go 'awwwwwwwwwhhhhh'.
Now if you haven't seen any of these movies, YOU NEED TO. If you have a New Year's Kiss looming over your head and don't know what to do this New Year's Eve, then come on over to our "Kiss Me...It's New Years!" Party. If you have no interest in being kissed or wanting a new year's kiss. Then why did you read this post? :)
Here's looking forward to this year's, New Year's Eve Kiss.
