Travelscapes: New & Notable Luxury Hotels

1 October 2015

We receive news about new hotels and resorts opening all the time, the competition is high and there are only so many leave days per year. Here are just a few hotels and resorts that opened this year; new, notable and worth it.

We are in love with the rustic decor and wooden interiors of Phum Baitang - this new luxury hotel is surrounded by Cambodia’s ancient Angkor Wat. Phum Baitang is a scattering of 45 villas, terrace and pool villas, surrounded by picturesque paddy fields. The resort includes a vast spa list to match their impressive facilities as well as two restaurants. A weekend away here would not disappoint.

The brand's first Indian property, the newly opened St. Regis Mumbai features 386 bedrooms and suites, an outdoor pool and multiple bars and restaurants. Not far from the Mumbai International Airport, and only 20 mins away from some serious shopping, those of you planning trips to India should definitely check this property out.

Just a hop and a skip away form La Scala, the Mandarin Oriental Milan is ideally located to all the major attractions. Occupying four 18th-century buildings, the hotel definitely is befitting the city's fashion credentials.

If you love The Upper House, then you will also love Swire Hotels' Temple House Chengdu. Adorned with natural and modern design, The Temple House is a stylish escape located in the heart of the city.

Situated where temples stand majestic against a backdrop of rice terraces, Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is the third bespoke resort in the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Reserve portfolio. Named after the entrance to a traditional Hindu temple, Mandapa is set along the majestic Ayung River as it meets the lush jungle in Ubud, the cultural and spiritual heart of Bali.
