Hong Kong’s very first Caribbean inspired bar and restaurant, Rummin’ Tings, oozes chilled-out vibes and island charm. If you're looking for good rum, a fun place to hang out with friends, then this island escape in the midst of Central’s hustle and bustle is the perfect place for you to rum-ble around in.
Signature dishes include:
Jamrock Jerk Chicken (HK$80) spicy grilled chicken with tamarind aioli,
Dutty Doubles (HK$50) tasty chick pea curry and bara (flat fried bread),
Conch Salad (HK$80) conch, tiger prawns, thyme, jicama and crispy shallots,
Jamaican Beef Patties (HK$ 60), spiced ground beef, thyme, pepper,
Cook Up Stew (HK$ 120), stewed oxtail, carrots, rice & peas,
Choka & Dahl Puri Roti (HK$ 70), grilled eggplant-tomato dip served with roti.
The sizes of the plates are 'bar bites' meant for sharing. During the day, Rummin' Tings is open for lunch and offers fresh juices. During the late afternoon and evening, Rummin' transforms into the place to be, hang out and chill the rest of the night away.
Must-try cocktails include:
Passionate Buttah (HK$100) made with cinnamon & butter infused Brugal Extra Dry Rum, passion fruit, lime and basil,
Stinga Punch (HK$ 100) a concoction of Bacardi Dark Rum, Wray & Nephew Rum, homemade banana syrup, pineapple juice and ginger beer,
Coco Libre (HK$90) a blend of Gosling Black Seal Rum, Chamarel coconut Liquer and fresh coconut water, amongst other potions.
Also available at the bar are a selection of frozen drinks, pitchers of potent punches, beer and wine.
